Although I consider myself a pescatarian, I meal-prep vegan and typically try to evade meat and dairy altogether. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options are increasing in popularity but aren’t as easily accessible or excessive as meat options. With my recent trip to Disney World, I provide my favorite vegetarian option from each park.
As a disclaimer, this information is true and accurate as of January 12, 2018, but menus and options are subject to change – it is Disney after all.
Described as a “Falafel Vegetarian Burger served with Tzatziki Sauce on a Brioche Bun, served with French Fries or Green Beans,” this option trumps a regular veggie burger and, with the toppings bar, you can load it with lettuce, mushrooms, onions, and condiments.
The description is a bit lackluster: “served with Tangierine Couscous Salad, Hummus and Tabouleh.” Nevertheless, you’ll received the previous mentioned as well as falafel, a lentil salad, and pita bread. This is my absolute favorite dish at Disney for a great value!
Tomatoes on tomatoes with this one! “Fried Green Tomatoes topped with Jalapeño Ranch Dressing, Pepper Jack, Tomatoes and topped with Arugula on Ciabatta Bread.” It’s not the healthiest meal, but it’s hearty.
Admittedly, I have much difficulty navigating Animal Kingdom. Where do I go? What do I eat? Why is it that I can never figure out where the hell I am in this park? It’s frustrating, but have consolation that you can always visit Yak and Yeti Local Food Café for an awesome Indian-inspired dish of “Garbanzo Beans, Zucchini, Peppers, Onions and Tomatoes in a creamy Tikka Masala Sauce served with White Rice.” Que rico!
That’s it! I hope enjoy my tasty recommendations! If you have different veggie-friendly options, please let me know!
